German contemporary choreographer and director Helena Waldmann, along with dance journalist Arnd Wesemann, undertook a three-week dance research trip starting on July 4, 2023. During their travels through Ulaanbaatar, the Gobi, and Khangai regions, they met with professional artists, local authorities, theater groups, and ordinary citizens. They engaged in artistic exploration, conducted research, and familiarized themselves with Mongolia’s dance scene.
